Summary
An acute crossover RCT in 41 healthy adults comparing plasma uric acid after a sucrose-based commercial soft drink, a fructose beverage, and a glucose control. Both the soft drink and fructose beverage produced larger uric acid rises at 30-60 minutes than the glucose control, with the fructose beverage producing the largest rise. Notably, the sucrose-based soft drink also raised uric acid.
