Summary
Twelve lean healthy men completed two isoenergetic conditions differing only in meal frequency (3 vs 14 per day) in a crossover design, with 24-hour substrate partitioning measured in a respiration chamber. Fat and carbohydrate oxidation did not differ. **Protein oxidation and resting metabolic rate were higher on the low-frequency diet, as was satiety.** Glucose AUC was lower on the low-frequency diet.
